To be able to find the appropriate agent to treat the patient successfully, antimicrobial susceptibility tests are performed on bacterial and fungal isolates. This method is an important and common technique in nearly all clinical labs. Starting from Octo Discs HiMedia has developed Hexa, Dodeca and Icosa Discs. All media are of an unique inert material which improves the absorption as it allows a faster adherance to the agar plate. The discs enable the simultaneous test of different antibiotics in one go. To prevent the merge of the different antibiotics during incubation, the single rings are at least 24 mm apart from each other.
