Auto Induction Media

Auto Induction Media or AIM is based on the carbon sources in a medium that are metabolized variedly to encourage high density cell growth and also automatically stimulate protein expression from lac promoters. It was first formulated and developed by W. Studier (Protein expression and purification 41: 207-234, 2005) to grow IPTG-inducible expression strains.

Our specialized series of AIM media is designed to provide high density cell growth, followed by a spontaneous induction of protein expression which eliminates the need to monitor the cell density along with no chances of conventional induction with IPTG.

Media for E.coli

HiMedia has developed a large variety of Growth Media for E.coli including extremely rich growth media for a very high yield of bacteriophage lambda namely Super Growth Agar and Super Growth Medium for various applications in the field of molecular and genetic studies. These media including those for the propagation of recombinant strains of E. coli, e.g. Luria Bertani, SOC, SOB etc. are suitable for different applications in molecular biology such as competent cells preparation, transformation and plasmid DNA amplification.
